The duties of the officers shall be similar to those performed by the officers of the sponsoring Kiwanis club.


The duties of the Vice-President include but are not limited to:

1) Working with the president to learn what is needed to successfully be president the following year
2) Conducting weekly meetings in the absence of the president
3) Conducting monthly board meetings in the absence of the president
4) Attending training sessions whenever possible
5) Attending conventions, including International, if possible
6) Serving as a member of the board of directors

The duties of the Aktion club president include but are not limited to:



1) Conducting weekly meetings
2) Conducting monthly board of directors meetings
3) Overseeing the day-to-day management of the club
4) Helping train new officers and board members
6) Providing for continuing leadership in future years by working closely with incoming officers
7) Overseeing all necessary reports to ensure they are finished on time
8) Working with the treasurer and board of directors to establish a viable budget and use it as a working tool during the year
9) Being the contact for the community to funnel information and requests to the Kiwanis club
10) Establishing committees as listed by Kiwanis International and as needed during the administrative year

The duties of the officers shall be similar to those performed by the officers of the sponsoring Kiwanis club.

The duties of the treasurer include but are not limited to:

1) Working with the president and board of directors to establish a budget for the administrative year
2) Writing all checks for payment as approved by the board
3) Balancing the checkbooks
4) Reporting to the board on a monthly basis as to the financial status of the club
5) Reporting a budget analysis to the board, as requested by the president
6) Keeping a balance for all projects during the year for the following year’s budget process
7) Keeping service and administration monies separated
8) Depositing all funds received

The duties of the club secretary include but are not limited to:

1) Keeping attendance records at the weekly meeting
2) Completing all reports as required by the district and Kiwanis International in a timely manner
3) Notifying all members as to the date and amount of the club, district, and International dues
4) Ensuring that dues payments are sent to district and International on time
5) Keeping up with the correspondence with district and International
6) Keeping notes of all board meetings
7) Ordering supplies as needed by the club

On Tuesday, December 14th, the Aktion club gathered at the Pla-Mor bowling alley in Coldwater for their annual evening of food, bowling and gift exchange.  This was in lieu of their regular meeting. A good time was had by all.

The next regular meeting of the Mercer County Aktion Club will be at 6 pm on January 11th, 2011 at the Briarwood Manor in Coldwater.


Celina Kiwanis Club President Larry Goins will be installing the new officers at this meeting.

Walk The Magic Mile 2010

Walk the Magic Mile - 2010.


Members of the Mercer County Aktion Club presented a check for $75.00 at Walk the Magic Mile to benefit pediatric trauma.  Accepting the check is Coldwater Kiwanis president John Yoder. Individual club members also raised money for this worthwhile cause.

 These two Aktion Club members raised the most money for the project, Cindy May raised $185.00 and Mark Lange $101.00.
Kudos go to both of you.

Ohio Aktion Club Convention 2010

The fourth Ohio Aktion Club convention was held on August 28, 2010 at the Recreation Unlimited facility located near Ashley, Ohio.

Mercer County Aktion Club was represented by Aktion club President Kelly Reigelsperger, club treasurer George Kornigor, club members Jim Norris, Cindy May, and Mark Lange. In addition, Celina Kiwanis club's liaison to the Aktion club, Hans Rehrmann, also attended.

The weather was fantastic and everyone had a great time.

Members were elected to the newly created Aktion Club Council and various brainstorming sessions were held.  


Ohio District President Don Parker addressed the conference.

All clubs turned in the pop tops they had collected. Our club collected 31 pounds. The winning club collected 52.6 pounds.  All clubs combined turned in 206 pounds of pop tops. Last year the Ronald McDonald House received $4,000,000 from pop taps.

The board decided to donate $50.00 to the Challenger Baseball games. The games will start the last Sunday in May and continue through the Sunday evenings in June. Mercer and Auglaize county Physically or mentally handicapped Kids 5 to 18 years old can play. The only pre-requisite is a desire to play. This is a part of the National Little League Association.
